Our little lady turned 2 on the 8th and we celebrated with a party at Bellaboo's on the 10th. We have been to the play center before, but she definately owned the place this time-she was all over! The kids had such a fun time and it was a nice day spent with family and friends.
It's so true what they say about time passing so fast! Where has it gone? Our little Emersen Jean is not as little any more! Still as sweet as can be with "please" and "thank you's" for EVERYTHING, but living up to her nickname as the Beast with that bossy little voice telling Parker what to do and climbing all over God's creation. We love you, love you, ladybug! Can't wait to keep watching you grow...but you and your brother slow down a bit, ok?

bah humbug
Due to Stu's work schedule, the crazy weekend coming up for Thanksgiving, and Emmy's birthday soon thereafter, we got a smidge of a headstart on the Christmas decorating (or pulling out of boxes all over the house, that is). Last night we decided to put up just the tree. Well, we got all the parts together and plugged it in and..................about 1/2 of the lights work in random places. Awesome. After messing around with fuses and lightbulbs for what seems like hours, we gave up. What a way to kill the spirit, huh?

Parks is four!
Parker turned the big number four last weekend! I can't believe how grown up he is getting! We went with friends and family up to the Curious Kids Museum in St. Joseph, MI. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast at the museum. Afterwards, we walked down by the beach and rode the carousel then watched the kiddies play on the playground in the sand. We finished up with dinner at a pizza place by the railroad tracks and, of course, had the conductor blow the horn a time or two. Parker and Emersen both were asleep within minutes of hitting the carseats. We did our best to get the sand out, but P told me the next morning, "Mommy, there are crunchies in my bed". Pictures to come!
things I love right now
1. Emersen decided that she wants to add a little flair and cheese is now, "Chee-cheese"
2. Early morning dance parties on the way to Grandma's house in the morning.
3. Parker has been wanting me to pick him up and snuggle him.
4. The kiddos want to help me cook every night now. It takes longer, but they get so excited and don't fight me when it comes time to eat it!
5. Warm sunshine with cool fall weather and falling leaves :)

kiddie conversations
Stu and I all always trying to get the details about preschool out of Parker. Tonight we were tucking him in to bed and asking questions about some things we knew a little bit about. "What did you have for snack? Did your special shape and color change? Do you know any of your friends names yet?" We somehow found out there is a girl named Addison in his class and asked about her, too. He told us, "Yes, and she has a full name, too. It's cracker nah nah." Where do they come up with this stuff? So funny.

craziness
It has been a whirlwind of crazy since school started. Here's what we have been up to:
P started preschool and is loving it so far. He made sure to come home and tell us all about the naughty boy in class. :) He also had his first trip to the ER and some staples in the back of his head after knocking his noggin on the dresser at Grandpa's birthday party. We just had them removed this afternoon and everything is healed well (thank goodness!)
Emersen is becoming more and more animated every day! She "peepeed" on the potty for the first time and is now obsessed with sitting up there and flushing the nothing down the toilet. She LOVES to dance, read books, and love on her babies. She is too funny!!
We decided to take the house off of the market for a while and try again when the market picks up a bit. After re-watching the coming home videos of P, I think I got a little sentimental about our house and feel just fine about staying in our little home for a little longer. :)
I'll have to get better about posting as things happen, because I forget the rest! :)

grown up taste
Me: Parker, do you want a bite of my sandwich?
P: Is it beef?
Me: (?????) No, it's chicken.
P: I don't want any then, thank you.
I then offered the sandwich to Emmers who yells, "I wuf it!!" as she shoves it in her face. These kids are soo funny! Love them.
